Joe Bennett has spent a decade on the capital side of infrastructure and on the operating side of aerospace — the two vantage points this work requires.
Most directly relevant: as Head of Finance at an autonomous aerospace company, he originated the financing structure for the company's manufacturing facility, a ground-lease arrangement through a PropCo/OpCo structure. That is the same transaction this firm now advises on, executed once already from the tenant's side of the table — including what a manufacturer will and will not concede, and what a landlord should have asked for.
Before that, he covered power, utilities and infrastructure M&A at Barclays, where he advised on Fir Tree Partners' $1.6 billion sale of solar developer sPower to AES and AIMCo — long-lived, permitted, contracted assets whose value turns on exactly the questions an airport ground lease turns on. At Michael Milken's family office he invested across the capital structure in private equity, private credit, high-yield, special situations and GP stakes.
He is a former U.S. Marine Corps officer and a service-disabled veteran.
